Kawakawa

Kawakawa is native to New Zealand and was one of the most important healing herbs in traditional Maori herbal medicine. Known as the “pharmacy of the forest” this plant is excellent for relieving inflammation, stress, and irritability within the body.

Arnica

A yellow perennial from the sunflower family that has been used in traditional herbal medicine for centuries. It has been used as a powerful natural pain reliever that helps soothe muscle aches, joint pain, reduce inflammation and heal wounds.

Manuka Honey

Manuka honey is made by bees that pollinate the Manuka Flower which is Native to New Zealand. This powerful liquid, known as ‘natures gold’, has powerful anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral and anti-oxidant properties.

Argan Oil

Renowned for its restorative and anti-ageing benefits, this oil is high in essential fatty acids with a proven track record in maintaining lasting skin hydration. Argan oil moisturizes and nourishes to give healthy, soft and glowing skin.

Rosehip Oil

Rosehip oil is extremely high in essential fatty acids, Vitamin C & A and rich in antioxidants. These properties are shown to help repair damaged skin cells and reduce the appearance of fine lines, hyperpigmentation and age spots. Rosehip oil has a fast absorption rate so it is perfect for moisturising your skin without leaving an oily residue.

Essential Oils

Essential oils are highly concentrated plant extracts that have many powerful medicinal and skin repairing properties. They have been proven to help reduce pain and lower inflammation while also restoring lost moisture, aiding with skin repair and slowing down the ageing process by increasing collagen production, reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

Cacay Oil

Cacay Oil contains natural retinol which helps in cell growth, skin hydration, and collagen production. Regular use of cacay oil reduces wrinkles, improves complexion and activates your skin’s natural renewal process thereby helping to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and keeping your skin supple and smooth and more youthful.

Menthol Crystals

Menthol crystals are naturally produced through Mentha arvensis essential oil extraction. They offer temporary pain relief for sore muscles, providing a local anaesthetic with a cool numbing sensation.

Lavender

Lavender essential oil is distilled from the plant Lavandula angustifolia, a commonly researched medicinal herb that has anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antiseptic and antibacterial properties as well as anxiolytic and analgesic effects.  Known as the star of aromatherapy for its many therapeutic benefits.

Ginger

Ginger has a long history of use in traditional and alternative medicine. It has been shown to be a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant and is effective in helping with inflammation, swelling and pain in the body.

Peppermint

One of Mother nature’s most powerful painkillers is peppermint oil. People have used peppermint for centuries to treat a range of illnesses and it is often used by herbal practitioners to relieve pain, increase circulation and reduce muscle spasms.

Black Pepper

This essential oil has warming, anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic properties.  It can help ease cramps, reduce pain of tired and injured muscles and provide relief of symptoms of arthritis and rheumatism through its warming effect and ability to encourage blood circulation.

Cinnamon Bark

Cinnamon bark essential oil is far more potent that the spice itself. It has been used for thousands of years in Ayurvedic medicine and is reputed to reduce inflammation, facilitate pain relief, boost immunity and improve metabolic function.

Clove Oil

Clove oil helps increase blood flow hereby being a very effective oil to help reducing pain and discomfort in the body.

Wintergreen Oil

A sportsperson’s favourite, Wintergreen has a history of use as a pain reliever and brings quick and cooling relief to an overworked body.

Eucalyptus

With its well known anti-inflammatory benefits, this aromatherapy favourite can promote an analgesic effect in the joints and muscles. As well as its pain relieving qualities eucalyptus also promotes relaxation and has antibacterial and antifungal properties

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is a succulent plant native to Africa. The leaves of the aloe vera plant are thick and fleshy, and they contain a clear gel-like substance which is used for skincare purposes. Aloe vera has anti-inflammatory properties and is used to soothe skin irritations aswell as being a great natural moisturiser.

Witch Hazel

Witch hazel is a plant with powerful medicinal properties that can be used in a variety of ways. It is widely known for its ability to ease inflammation and soothe sensitive skin while also containing many compounds with potent anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants.

Borage Oil 

An organic oil that’s higher in GLA than evening primrose oil, so this helps to prevent dry skin.

Grapefruit seed extract

Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE) is a powerful broad-spectrum, citrus-based anti-microbial that can be used to extend product shelf life and protect personal skin care formulations against bacteria and fungus. GSE possesses strong antiseptic, germicidal, antibacterial, fungicidal, and anti-viral properties and also acts as an antioxidant.

Co-Enzyme Q10

This is an important antioxidant, which naturally occurs in all cells. Research shows that it helps to improve the texture of the skin, and can smooth the appearance of fine lines.

 

Raspberry Seed Oil 

A gently moisturising oil that is being increasingly used in natural skincare products, after research showed it offered a slight natural sun protection.
Calendula extract – another potent botanical extract, well known for it’s skin-calming properties for sensitive skin.

Squalane 

We use a vegetable based version, derived from olive oil.  Squalane is moisturising and also assists in the absorption of the oil serum into the skin.

Vitamin E

A powerful antioxidant that helps prevent skin damage caused by free radicals. It helps strengthen the skin barrier, helps your skin to attract and retain moisture, fights pigmentation and boosts cell regeneration.

Hyaluronic Acid  

This powerhouse has an impressive ability to draw moisture into the skin which helps keep your skin hydrated and gives it a radiant youthful look . Hyaluronic Acid is able to hold 1000 times its weight in water. To put it simply, it turns your skin into a heavily saturated sponge, and the more moisture it holds, the more hydrated and plumper your skin will look, and the less visible fine lines become.

Frankincense

A well known oil that has been used for thousands of years in Ayurvec medicine and is even mentioned in the bible. This oil has many healing properties and is known for its ability to strengthen skin, improve skin tone and elasticity. It encourages cell regeneration and reduces inflammation to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and scars.

Avocado Oil

A super-food, rich in essential fatty acids to help prevent and repair skin damage by promoting cell growth and increasing the amount of collagen in the skin.

Cacay oil

Rich in Vitamin C & A. Excellent to repair scarring and imperfections, fight free radical damage, protect lipids to maintain moisture as well as a powerful anti-oxidant.

Helichrysum

With rejuvenating and restorative properties this oil helps protect the skin’s collagen and elastin, reduce the appearance of blemishes, fine lines and wrinkles, and promote a glowing complexion.

Pomegranate

Pomegranate seed oil is one of the only plant sources of conjugated fatty acids, and has an extremely high level of punicic acid (78%). This acid has been called a “super CLA” (conjugated linoleic acid) which helps the skin retain moisture by boosting ceramide synthesis in skin cells. Pomegranates help to improve skin health by reducing wrinkles, preventing sun damage, detoxifying the skin, reducing acne, and promoting collagen production to reduce fine lines.

Coco Caprulate

Used as an emollient in skincare. It has excellent spreadability and is a substitute for silicone oil.

Olive Squalane

Olive Squalane reflects the Squalane component of human sebum. Squalane helps increase hydration, enhances the skin’s natural barrier against external irritants and pollutants, and helps restore the concentration of natural squalene to more youthful levels. Thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties it can also help with acne and eczema.

Calendula Oil

Full of anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, this oil can help reduce dark spots, blemishes, acne, and scars and help restore skin elasticity.

Glycerin

This is one of the best hydrators for the skin. It is similar to the natural moisture found in skin and it is helping to establish a normal balance and defend the skin against dryness, and also keeping the skins barrier in good shape, which means keeping out the bad and holding on to the good.

Geranium

Geranium has anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties and can help reduce skin irritation, acne breakouts, and may help with signs of aging.
Geranium Rose: Reputed to balance the skin’s natural oil production while helping to lighten age spots and even out overall skin tone.

Helichrysum

Widely used for anti-aging purposes because of its antioxidant and restorative properties which promote skin cell growth and regeneration, helping to keep the skin nourished and youthful.

Rose (expensive, but so good for skin)

Rose oil can help fight signs of aging, reduce the appearance of scars, and aid acne-prone skin or other skin conditions. (source)

Palmarosa

Palmarosa Essential Oil works to balance the sebum production in the skin to help maintain oil levels. With its antibacterial properties, Palmarosa Oil is great for treating oily, acne-prone skin, alongside other Essential Oils such as Tea Tree Oil and Lavender Oil.

Rose Damask

Rose oil is one of the most beloved essential oils. It’s also one of the most expensive as the petals need to be carefully handpicked and 30 roses produce only 1 drop of essential oil – that’s around 600 roses to make a single ml! These roses are packed with antioxidants and vitamins that help to protect the skin from damage, and also have anti-inflammatory properties that can help to soothe and calm the skin. Additionally, the damask rose is a natural source of glycerin, which is a key ingredient in many skincare products that helps to keep the skin hydrated.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is high in antioxidants, and it affects blood circulation. There are numerous scientific studies to how that alpha-tocopherol or Vitamin E helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and also prevents age spots. This is because Vitamin E performs an antioxidant activity that controls the damaging effects of free radicals on the skin.

Jojoba Oil

Another organic oil that’s very similar to the skin’s natural sebum.  We love the way jojoba balances all skin types, refines the pores and provides lasting hydration without feeling oily.
